I can provide the answer to within 5 metres. Does this meet with your requirements?

hi answerfinder,
if your figure relates to an official contour or trig point above or
below Vicars Rd that I could identify and visit, that would be fine.
Is that what you have?

perplexed-ga,
That was quick!
It's situated between two contour lines on the Ordnance Survey map, I
can't immediately see a nearby trig point .

hello again (I was reading other questions. Amazing collection!!)
It sounds as though what you have is good. Can you give me the name of
the road that the contour is on? I can work from there to Vicars Rd.

Dear perplexed-ga,

Thank you for your clarifications. I will now post this as an answer.

The road is situated between the 45 and 40 metres above sea level.

First of all, this map gives the location of Vicars Road. As you will
see, there are no clues as to its altitude.
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=528250&y=185250&z=1&sv=Vicars+Road&st=1&tl=Vicars+Road,+NW5&searchp=newsearch.srf&mapp=newmap.srf
Another map

However, if you now go to the Ordnance Survey Map of the area (this
link should take you to the page, if not, see the instructions below.
You should also use this method if you want to view adjacent parts of
the map).

Find the location of the road. I found the church symbol just below
the words Gospel Oak to be a useful target. You will see that the road
is situated between the 45 and 40 metre contour lines. The slope is up
the hill towards Parliament Hill.

The 45 metre line you will see runs west of Lismore Circus and south
down Haverstock Road.
The 40 metre line cuts across Grafton Road / Cress Close.

These maps have a possible error range in the contours of + or - 1.0m

If the link did not work, try this
http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/freefun/didyouknow/
Type: Gospel Oak in the search box in the middle of the page.
In the list select Gospel Oak Camden and the map with full navigation
tools will become available.

I hope this answers your question. If it does not, or the answer is
unclear, or the links do not work, then please ask for clarification
of this research before rating the answer. I shall respond to the
clarification request as soon as I receive it.
Thank you

I've just tested the direct link to the Ordnance Survey map and it
does not work. Use the search proceedure as described to access it.
