Try this:

Add the following to a text file:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\starware.com]
*=dword:00000004
and save the file as a .reg then run the file to block this activeX control.

Make sure you check your add/remove programs for the Starware toolbar
and remove it.

Delete the folder Software Distribution under C:\Windows.

Download and run Giant AntiSpyware from www.giantcompany.com scan system.

Let me know how it works out! :)

Try Spybot Search & Destroy
(http://spybot.safer-networking.de/en/index.html). It's quite
reputable -- see, for instance:

"Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.3"
Download.com
http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10289035.html?tag=pao

It seems to catch what Ad-Aware doesn't (and vice versa).

Incidentally, you should make sure that you have the latest updates
for Ad-Aware, Spybot, or whichever tool(s) you use.
