When doing a search on google the actual results appears for a couple of seconds and then the first few results seem to be changed to starware and others. No spyware present on my system according to adaware and new microsoft antispyware utility. No keyword programme present in add remove programmes. Any help much appreciated. |

Try this: Add the following to a text file: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\starware.com] *=dword:00000004 and save the file as a .reg then run the file to block this activeX control. Make sure you check your add/remove programs for the Starware toolbar and remove it. Delete the folder Software Distribution under C:\Windows. Download and run Giant AntiSpyware from www.giantcompany.com scan system. Let me know how it works out! :) |

Try Spybot Search & Destroy (http://spybot.safer-networking.de/en/index.html). It's quite reputable -- see, for instance: "Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.3" Download.com http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10289035.html?tag=pao It seems to catch what Ad-Aware doesn't (and vice versa). Incidentally, you should make sure that you have the latest updates for Ad-Aware, Spybot, or whichever tool(s) you use. |
