How would a building have been razed in 1887? Suppose a structure
were to be taken down to make way for an industrial site. (Did that
happen, or were old structures just left intact, with manufacturing
and industry breaking new ground away from residential areas?) Or
suppose the house had burned down and the remains were to be cleared
away for new construction. What kind of equipment and labor would
have been used? Let's say the location is a city in Belgium.

Thank you,
Archae0pteryx
