Want to start archiving digital images/music off of the laptop and
onto DVD's. For the subject Drive, is there a particular brand of DVD
which is more successful than others when it comes to burning? Also, I
don't understand the difference between DVD "-", "+" R

Diffent players reconize different media such as the - and the +.
Older dvd players tend to be the - while newer ones play the +. And as
far as brands go I use Memorex, but there it is more of a personal
preferance. I am including a link about dvd media for you and there
specs.



Currently there are many writeable and rewriteable DVD formats on the
market, and this can be confusing to the average consumer. These DVD
formats include:

DVD-RAM 
DVD-R 
DVD-RW 
DVD+R 
DVD+RW
