Is real estate broker license courses tuition tax deductible (paid to http://www.brokerlicense.com)? If Yes, is there any way the IRS can verify how much tuition I have paid throughout the year? Thank you. |

If you are self employed then any business expense such as licensing can be deducted. The IRS cannot know how much you spent except by what you tell them. If you are audited (which is much more likely if you claim alot of business expenses) then they will require proof of everything you claimed... and if you cannot provide proof or atleast good evidence then you run the risk of being charged with fraud. I'm not a tax expert, but this is what I remember from when I was self employed and had a discussion with a tax expert about such things. |
