I am building a model to estimate the number of potential customers at
the following states: CA, TX, NY, FL, PA.

In the commercial world, I know the number of companies by size
(between $250 and $500 million, and over $500 million). On the
government side, I have an ok understanding at the federal level, but
now need similar info at the state level.

I am looking for info on number entities beteen 2,500-500 employees
(or budget of $250 million to $500 million) and number of entities
over 5,000 employees (budget over $500 million)

The answer might look like this, say for CA:
There are 200 "departments" with over 5,000 employees (or with a
budget over say $500 million) and 300 "departments" between 2,500 and
5,000 employees (budget between $250 and $500 million)

Answer needs to reference the source so I can verify the answer.
(Also, I really need the numbers, not just links to good websites.)

Thanks.
