I can't confirm it's available, but if it is, it would be through a
Ms. Tindley at Philadelphia's municipal criminal court. Her number is
(215) 686-7928. See (http://courts.phila.gov/cgi-bin/faq/faqsearch.cgi?category=Court+Reporters)

Certainly, the court reporter would *sell* copies of the transcript.
Although somebody who offers $2 for a source of a copy would probably
suffer true sticker shock at the cost of ordering a copy from the
court reporter.

Actually expert-law you're 100% right!

I called the number given, which forwarded me to another number, who
offered to sell me a copy for $3.00/page. She didn't know how many
pages it was, but I got the sense it was a fair amount. And I got the
sense it could take a while.

Err, I offered $2.00 since I'd assumed, or hoped at any rated, that
this would be a legal document that so many people would be interested
in seeing (certainly the cross is *described* in any number of
popular press articles) that there'd be some simple source for it for
people who know where to find things like legal documents!

As with so many things in life, it does seem a little bit
counterintuitive that I can find 100 references to a stunning cross by
Sprague, but if I actually want to read the cross, I need to pay
(presumably) hundreds of dollars and wait a couple months :-) . There
really isn't some simpler way of seeing this doc?
