I just got an LG VX8000 phone and a USB adapter cable. Now I want to be able to upload MP3 files to my phone. What do I do? I've spent some time on HowardForums and downloaded a program called BitPIM but no luck so far (I get an error message when trying BitPIM). I will happily pay the fee to whoever can tell me what cable to buy, what software to download, how to configure it etc, and handhold me through this process. |

currently bitpim does not support the vx8000, so using the calendar, ringer, wallpaper, and phonebook functions will cause you an error. The nice people from RPI Wireless are sending the developers a VX8000 to work with in order for bitpim to support it. In the meantime, you can work with the ringers and pictures by enabling and using the filesystem view. By overwriting current files with the ones you want, you can put contentt on the phone. With ringers, you can use the record function to create the ringer, then overwrite with the filesystem view on bitpim to replace it with your desired content. I've been using vzwpix at the moment to put pictures on the phone... I erased most of the default pictures... but you can overwrite the default ones with contents of your own devising. I use the vx6100 vx7000 cable from 3gcables.com, its a straight usb cable and charges the phone while connected. I've heard people finding them for cheap on ebay, but you're looking for the vx6100/7000 cable. Feel free to pm me on howardforums. zr |

I just downloaded v 7.32 onto my G5 and it supports the VX8000. I can do all the old bitpim stuff I used to do (pictures, mp3 ringers, phonebook) but I haven't figured out how to add full-length mp3s. I found some great instructions at http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=567212 but unfortunately they include right-clicking in the file tree, something I can't do with my mac mouse. I'm supposed to right-click and select new file. "New File" is not available under edit or anything else. Anyone know how to work around this? |
