I have found information about the marriage of John Hett to Tabitha
Read, and a bit about their sons, John and Richard Hett...all in
Nocton.

I have not found anything yet about John and Tabitha's ancestors, however.

It would help to know where you obtained the information you have
already about John and Tabitha -- particularly his date of death.

Let me know what you can, and I'll see if I can uncover any additional information.

Thanks,

pafalafa-ga

Hello Ross1234.

Please let me know:

1. What sources of information sources you have used to learn about
John Hett's date of death, and his marriage to Tabitha?

2. Whether the information I found so far -- Tabitha's last name,
date of her wedding to John Hett, information on their two sons -- is
new information, or is known to you already.

3. Any additional background you can provide would be most helpful.

Thanks,

pafalafa-ga

Info on John Hett came from church registers and " Some notes for a
history of Nocton" by Kate Norgate and Maruice F Footman.
John Hett had 3 sons, his first born was Willian, who was baptized May 21 1693.
A genealogist has said that Hett is a varaint of Heath, Heth, or
Hette.[this info from a history of the family dated 1938, and it
obviously is not in print, it was published privately by Horncastle:W.
K. Morton & Sons, Printers 1934.]The Author was Marjorie J. F. Hett.

With this in mind, there is some thought that Nicholas Heath or Hett
may have been an ancestor of John. Nicholas [during the reign of
HenryV111] was successively Bishop of Rochester, Worcester, and finally
Archbishop of York. Can you try to trace him forward?
If my initial $200.00 doesn't cover this I'll be happy to have your
fee readjusted. Thank you. Ross1234

Some details concerning Nicholas Heath, i.e. not John Hett.

In case your local library does not have a copy of the DNB these
volumes are available online:
