Hi
For a good start-up account I would suggest you look at a reliable and
long-time hosting service that offers alot of bandwidth for not too
much outlay.
One host that fits the bill is www.hostrocket.com.
Good luck.

Hi, I'd recommend www.tera-byte.com . We've been with them for years
and their up-time track record is superb. They also have 24-hour toll
free support if something does go wrong - you won't find many
companies who offer that. Anyhow, best of luck to you! - Craig.

Hi,

I'd recommend PowWeb (not to be confused with IPowweb. I've used them
for about 4 years now. I have 2 domains hosted by PowWeb. You can
read about them here, and a review by clicking on the second link.

I would recommend www.dreamhost.com because the control panel is
generally easy to use, and unlike most others, they give you one free
domain registration, which is usually about $15.

Domain registration is basically your URL (www.your-company.com).
Without a domain, users will have to type an obscure ip address
(string of numbers like 123.456.789.123) to get to your site instead
of www.your-company.com, and you'll have to leave your computer on
24/7 (not to mention it will probably lag when you use it, beacuse it
is serving other users).

Also, if you want to save money, you might try to find other users
like you online, who want to start a simple site, and pool money,
reducing the overall cost (unless you think you're going to need over
600 email addresses, or thousands of people visiting daily).

Some other considerations:
If you have bought a domain name already, I'd recommend
http://www.ivaluehost.net/ because its just about as cheap as it gets
and should be enough for the most basic users.

As for Mac support, since HTML, PHP, etc... are all interpreted
languages, there should be no compatability problems.

I found www.hostbreak.com. They seem to offer unlimited bandwidth and
up to 800 MB disk space.

when it comes time to register your domain name whatever you do don't
use registerfly.

I have a client that changed their email address, and when it came
time to renew they didn't recieve the renewal email. Now registerfly
wants to charge then over $200 to reinstate their domain name because
it expired.
