Twenty year ago I had dental work, involving a root canal in which silver points was inserted, approximately (2) months ago I had to have them removed (Carious Exposure bic12). Since the removal and the dental work I have had nothing but soreness in both side of my jawbone area just below each cheek bone. I have to taken aspirin 3-4 times a day to get relief. Please Advise. |

If your problem were on one side, it would be more likely that the problem was neurological in origin, although you may nonetheless want to consult with a neurologist or physiatrist (NOT psychiatrist - a physiatrist is an expert in physical medicine) who should be able to tell you if your problem is neurological in origin. It is less likely that the problem is neurological, as for the symptoms to exist on both sides a similar neurological impingement would have to be occurring bilaterally. You also need to be certain that the wounds aren't infected or contaminated. |

there is also a thing called "sympathetic" injury/pain. It's fairly common for someone to get a severe black eye on one side of the face, and have a 'sympathetic' black eye show up on the other without any cause or injury. I have actually seen it happen so I know it's real, although I don't know whether the concept can translate to teeth, but an emergency room intern would know I bet! Cheers :) |
