The poem is called "True Comeliness" and was written in the eighteenth
century by English poet John Gay (1685-1732), best known as the author
of The Beggar's Opera.
It appears to have been a fairly well-known verse in the 19th century,
as it is reproduced in at least two online historical volumes of
collected popular materials:
