you could try Martindale-Hubble a company that publishes ratings of
attorneys based upon peer evaluations.  Or if you are searching for a
good lawyer for personal reasons, I would go to the Clerk of Courts
office in you county and ask the clerks who they would hire if they
needed a lawyer.  They see these lawyers every day and get a good feel
not only for their abilities, but also for how they treat others.
