How do I find out what the IP ADDRESS (numerical) is for a domain name? i.e. If I wanted to know what IP address www.cnn.com belongs to, where do I look that up? |

Hi!! To find out what the IP ADDRESS for a domain name just use one of the following services: "Whois Source": Fill the Name Spinner box with the domain name and press the search button. http://www.whois.sc/ or "Network solutions Whois Directory": Fill the search box and select Domain name for the search. Press the Search button. http://www.networksolutions.com/en_US/whois/index.jhtml For example the IP address found for www.cnn.com at "Whois Source" is 64.236.24.4 . http://www.whois.sc/cnn.com For additional info follow the link "64.236.24.4" in the result page: http://www.whois.sc/64.236.24.4 Other pages that offer this service for free are: "Urgentclick.com - Ip Look up": http://www.urgentclick.com/ip_address_lookup.php "ARIN WHOIS Database Search" from the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) site: http://www.arin.net/whois/index.html "Network Tools": http://network-tools.com You can also use the following free tool: "IPLOOKUP" http://www.toolsforselling.com/v1/1/iplookup.htm Search strategy: ip look up ip lookup I hope that this helps you. Or, you could just open up a command prompt and: ping www.cnn.com Pinging cnn.com [64.236.16.52] with 32 bytes of data: |
