Nike has sponsored a number of baseball athletes during the last
several years. Here are all of the materials I found demonstrating a
relationship between Nike and baseball athletes.
"Nike
His current deal with Nike stretches into the 10-year mark. Nike
shares two high profile baseball teammatates: A-Rod and Derek Jeter.
Nike execs won't say what they have planned for A-Rod. But in 2001, a
national Nike ad campaign welcomed Jason Giambi to the Yankees. "

"The new ad is the latest in a series that focuses on the
determination by several major-league pitchers to take to
cross-training to share in the national attention on home-run sluggers
like Mark McGwire. In the first two ads, which began airing in April,
Chan Ho Park of the LA Dodgers and Randy Johnson strap on their Nike
Air 120 cross-trainers to help them swing for the fences, but
immediately encounter problems.
In the third ad, which broke May 4, Braves pitching aces Tom Glavine
and Greg Maddux get fed up with the attention on McGwire after
watching Heather Locklear's rapt attention on Big Mac in batting
practice."
