I was just wondering if any program exists that would allow a bachelors degree program (preferably online programs) to be started without any prior college credits. Is this possible or not? |

Dear Drawleinad, Of course it is possible. In fact, most people start learning towards a bachelor degree without having an associate degree before. Most those who go to college today, earn a bachelor in four years. Naturally, taking a degree online, or in evening classes, might take longer as it would had, if you went to a regular college and enrolled there. Degrees are offered in a vast array of subjects and you have first to decide: what is the best for you? What do you like to do the most? What interest you? What might be a good job, or a dream job, that requires this degree? After you've decided on a subject, you can check, which institutions offer it. If you're looking for an online provider, I suggest the following book and site: Bears' Guide to Earning Degrees by Distance Learning (by John Bear) Degree Info www.degreeinfo.com If online/distance learning is not such an important factor, it might be best to check with your local college, which degrees are offered that would suit you. So, I hope this answered your question. I wish you good luck in school! |

You can take CLEP exams and collect REAL college credit immediately. See http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/about.html Deposit all your college level credits with the Thomas Edison State College. See http://www.tesc.edu/aboutus/ The College was created by the state of New Jersey to develop flexible, high-quality educational opportunities for adults. The College originated from the idea that the college-level knowledge adults gain outside the classroom could be measured and applied toward an academic degree. You can also get college credit for Life Experience. Go to a local library and ask for books on the subject, or visit http://www.icn.org/studentservices/lifeexp.html for more information Good Luck (-) Prof? at an accredited university |
