I've heard claims both ways: "Interracial marriages are more likely to end in divorce", supposedly because they have odds stacked against them and have to deal with cultural issues and discrimination; and I've also heard, "Interracial marriages are more likely to last", supposedly because the couple has a chosen each other from a larger pool of potential mates (as opposed to just within their own respective races), and that they've had the opportunity during dating to deal with discrimination and its implications. Could you please get me hard statistics on this matter, preferrably for Canada and the United States (though other countries are also OK)? |
