Question ID: 472117
I am trying to configure an Apache server for the first time. I want
ALL of the URL's to be case-insensitive. I am using freeBSD 5.3. I
have tried mod_rewrite, mod_speling, and others and nothing has
worked.

I have a virtual directory called "www.mydomain.com/music/"

It is defined by an Alias such as:

Alias /music/ "/usr/local/etc/apache/docroot/songs/mp3stuff"

That works OK, but when I type in www.mydomain.com/MUSIC/
I get a "Not found error"

Please help!

I do want ALL the URL's to be case insensitive. If I have to use
"rewrite" for every one, individually, wouldn't that take heaps of
parsing time for each request?

Try the following mod_rewrite rule:

RewriteRule ^/(?!music/)(?i)music/(.*) /music/$1 [PT]

Remember to enable the mod_rewrite engine with this line in the configuation file:

RewriteEngine on

I might have misunderstood the question. Do you want _all_ the URLs to
be case-insensitive?

If possible, I would like ALL the URLS to be case-insenitive.

Thanks
