I'm looking for information on what might be involved in running a boarding house type residence. It will be quite similar to http://www.penington.org/, except targeted towards web developers (instead of Quakers) and will have staff on hand (or contracted out to) to provide meals, maid service, and laundry service. I have almost no experience with what is involved in managing a residence like this, and would love to find some (any) information which would help get me pointed in the right direction... |

Your planning should be as under: 1. Make required changes in house. If you have dormatory kind of plan, then access from outside and also to bath and toilets is to be planned. Each person is to be provided with required furniture (bed, study table, cupboard, open shelf). 2. Plan optimum use of your area. Normally you should plan about 50 to 80 sft per occupant. 3. Provide adequate bath and toilets. 4. Plan for dining and common facilities (if required). 5. Get Electrical fittings and points relocated if necessary. 6. Check if local munipal body requires any registration/license for operating a boarding house. 7. Keep complete details (name, address, references) of all occupants for traceability. Hope the above fulfils your requirements. I am not a researcher at google and if you feel then you can contact me at "mitconpl at eth dot net". |
