Hello GA, I will be changing jobs in the coming months. To be more precise, I will be starting in June. I will be quitting my current job at the end of February, if all goes well, ie. I get to sign my new contract in the next weeks. This gives me three months to enjoy myself and get over the (relative) stress I had this past year re. job-change. I am looking for ideas as to how I could spend this precious time I am being given reasonably. I will probably not get such a chance any time soon. I will be visiting my family / friends back home in Turkey for a couple of weeks. I dont think I will be too happy with "just" travelling with a back pack. That is somehow boring. I am considering taking a one-month language course in Spain. I learn something, travel during the weekends, get to meet new people, see nice places and relax. Even if I do that, I wil still have about two months. What do you say? Just throw me ideas, anything.. Thanks, Can1972 |

or you could spend this free time creating your own ebay business, you would research what are known as ebay hotlist and say what sells well find a wholesale contact and order and sell, make a little money on the side once its up its just very simple updating now and again you could even continue it will you have your job. |

Thanks silvershadow for the ideas. I will give the first set serious consideration. Funnily enough I have high hopes that I will be working for an airplane manufacturer. I do have a friend who flies planes and a nother who jumps from them. If I do do any one of those, I will try and get a photo on the net for you. I will let the e-bay idea rest. My brother is the e-bay-guru and I happen to be his financier / bank in Germany. :) Take care, Can1972 |

Can, Your ideas so dar have been great: backpacking (which month and how much do you have to spend? Some places are better to visit in June-August, while others might be better in Sept-Dec, etc.), learning a new language, you could also do gap-year volunteer work for three month, as part of your trip or in addition. |

Hi political, Thanks for the interest. I will try to take between 1. March and 1. June free. I will be working pretty hard once I get going so gap-year type of work is not really interesting. I would like to learn new things, acquire hobbies and so on. I got my hands dirty at the following at various degrees of involvememtn: -Languages -Pool / billiards -Photography -Diving -Painting -Chess -Dancing I read your answers and would be interested in hearing your more original ideas. What would you be doing if you had this time frame? Thanks Can1972 |

Hi, you do mention learning a language in Spain, you could also do lots of your other hobbies there to. Most towns in Spain have language schools with Spanish for foriegners. Many places offer "activities", both sporting and cultural. You could hire a house in a Spanish town or village and become part of life, there rather than go to a resort. You might like Huesca in the Pyrenees, a photographer's paradise in Spring, with loads of sports and activities on offer. For example Ainsa, a lovely town in the low pyrenees. Girona, and Granada also great places for all your hobbies. have a look at www.coloursofspain.com for a taste of real spanish places to stay. You'll be going off peak too, so you can probably get a great deal. |

Go to the UK and do the country sports, Woodpigeon Shooting is excellent at this time of year with the early morning dew on the fields. Worth it just to see the sun rise. Try these guys, I hear they are excellent and no stuffy, hotel this is set on a genuine working farm. www.angliasporting.co.uk a brilliant into to the sport. Also what about setting a goal? Climbiong the highest peak in the UK, Spain, Italy and France? Just a thought. Or to take a car from Portugal to Moscow??? Choice is yours. Good luck. |
