A local furniture store packed a couch and chair onto my truck. On
the way home the chair fell onto the interstate and caused damage. I
live in Tennessee (if it is a state law). Who is responsible for
damage? The furniture store did ALL packagine and strapping.

Only the chair was damaged

I'd say they are. It sounds like small claim court to me.

Perhaps you need to clarify; do you mean that the chair was damaged;
or that damage was caused to other vehicles or property.

This is from the G...A... FAQ Page:

No researcher has answered your question yet, but, as a personal
opinion, I would agree with just4fun2 that the store should be
responsible if they did all the packing and strapping. But they might
not agree. Was there any small print on any invoice, receipt or
information leaflet, saying that they would not accept responsibility
for damage caused in those circumstances?
