Why is the unsplit formulation of the PML (perfectly matched layer)
more suitable to time-harmonic problems than time-dependent problems?
From what I understand when dealing with time-dependent problems the
split formulation is more appropriate. Why is that? What needs to be
done to adopt the unsplit formulation for time dependent problems as
well?
