I would like to know the estimated costs for redesigning a website. The website is currently operational with an e-commerce engine. I would like to add some functionality to the site, in particular change the graphics, nav bar, check-out process. I would also like to ad a message board. Thanks. |

How large is the site you currently have? Posting the links to it may help in giving an rough "quote" |

Hello purevelour-ga, The beauty of developing new web designs and the re-design of existing sites can be likened to other tasks in life that require upfront requirements before an appropriate diagnosis can be made. Many firms will either charge you an hourly rate or a project rate which is typically contingent upon the type of work. My recommendation based on the scope of work you referenced in your question is to pursue an hourly rate because the changes do not sound too complicated. Insite Consulting and Design <a href="http://www.insiteconsulting.com"> is a firm on the west coast which specializes working with consumers who want to grow their existing business online or want to create an online presence. Contact Insite today and someone there would be happy to help you. They created 2 sites for each of my businesses, (an online retail toy store and my realestate firm.) They were affordable and above all, someone I felt like I could trust with my business growth. |

In some cases a redesign may not be worth hanging on to the old.. A lot of times the only thing that remains is the content and type of the old site everything else changes. So its not really a redesign. But you can call it a redesign since you already have a website. If your site was made pre-2002 it probably is missing a lot of new functionality that could make your life a lot easier. Also many companies are moving into dynamic content and graphics that change depending on a number of reasons to suit the viewer. Web design is cool stuff... and pretty much anything you can imagine can be done now. I wouldn't expect it to be too cheap cause custom shopping carts are no joke. they are very complex systems usually. But can work wonders.... |
