Hello,

I am looking for a merchant account for XXX Paysite or Adult Products
that accept applications from Romania. I need a virtual terminal for
the merchant too but all that I had found didn't accept applications
from Romania. Someone can help me?

Dear Andr3i,

Being from Romania (a country blacklisted for a high rate of credit
card fraud) and operating an adult site (which is not acceptable by
many credit card issuing companies) is a problematic combination.

I could find te following that offer merchant accounts for Romania:

iKobo offers such an account; and its Terms of Service mention nothing
about limitation for adult sites:
iKobo - Romanian page
<http://www.ikobo.com/country/romania/>
---> "iKobo offers two services in Romania. [...] With merchant
protection, no fees, and instant payment options, the iKobo Merchant
Program is perfectly designed for the needs of online merchants in
Romania."

iKobo Mecrchant Accounts
<http://www.ikobo.com/ikobo.cgi?action=info_merchant>

According to several forums, you have to notify their customer service
when sending adult products; the site itself has pages geared towards
adult products merchants see Google cache at:
iKobo - Belgium: Adult Merchant
<http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache:OijyPJ72fdcJ:www.belguim.ikobo.com/cp/adult-merchant-account.html+site:ikobo.com+adult&hl=en>

While iKobo is probably the best suited solution in your case, there
are several other solutions. Dulango offer high risk accounts that are
geared towards the adult entertainment and the international market.
On their website, they don't mention limitations regarding Romania:
Durango Merchant Services
<http://www.durangomerchantservices.com/>

Another such site is Buy-Rate.com - it offers accounts for adults
sites and for sites from Romania:
Buy-Rate.com
<http://www.buy-rate.com/merchant_accounts/>

NFC Web is another possibility, though they write that they would not
accept "Hardcore pornography or downloadable stream adult": if you
products are not "hardcore" (but "soft porn") and they are not
"downloadable stream this might be a solution:
NFC Web
<http://creditcards.nfcweb.com/index.htm>

PSiGate might be another solution. They accept **some** forms of adult
sites and do not limit Romania, according to their site:
PsiGate
<www.psiGate.com>

You also might want to contact Adult Host
<http://www.msn.org/processing.php> . This company also offering
processing services for adult sites all over the world, so they claim.

I hope this answered your question. Please contact me if you need any
clarifications on this answer before you rate it. My search strategy
has been to search for "merchant accounts" romania (and then look for
terms of service for adult sites inside the site): this method, though
a bit tedious, brings you sites that have been proven to suit your
condition.

Not exactly the greatest answer.
