I represent a small company in South Africa that produces
environmentally friendly water borne paint with a zero to very very
low VOC content. We are to small to compete in the US market, but the
market will "kill" for a product with this charactaristics. How can we
go about to find a big company that already have the infrastructure to
manufacture and market our product? We will be willing to pay
commission in case of a succesfull transaction.

Hello -

Thank you for your question. If you need any additional
clarification, please don't hesitate to ask.

There are two general ways to approach this. The first way is to hire
a consultant, consultancy or contract sales person in the US to shop
your product to various manufacturers.

I spoke with Ron Joseph of Ron Joseph & Associates, a firm who works
in this very area. Mr. Joseph happens to be an expatriate from South
Africa, and received experience and training at Plascon-Evans. His
company has several contacts in the industry and can shop your product
to them.

	7246 Sharon Drive, Suite "O"
	San Jose, CA 95129
	Phone: (408) 446-9736
	Fax: (408) 446-9731
	sales@ronjoseph.com

ChemQuest is another such company that does similar work, as verbally
confirmed with representative Todd Muhleman. Contact Mike Brown, who
is in charge of the coatings area:

	8150 Corporate Drive, Suite 250
	Cincinnati, OH 45242

Jay Willner of WEH Corporation is another individual with whom I
spoke. He may be able to assist in this regard:

	P O Box 470038
	San Francisco CA 94147-0038
	Ph: (415) 567-3336
	Fax: (415) 567-3340
	Email: jrw@wehcorp.com

Another possibility:

	P. D. Lovett & Company
	http://www.pdlovett.com
	Concord Plaza
	105 Webster Bldg
	3411 Silverside Rd
	Wilmington DE 19810
	Ph: (302) 478-8620
	Fax: (302) 478-8677
	Email: info@pdlovett.com

The second method for shopping your product is to directly approach
manufacturers. You would either need an inside sales person to do
this, or you could do it yourself (if you feel confident enough to
sell your product). Companies that are most equipped to manufacture
your product are ones that are most likely in the zero VOC paint
business, as they already have the existing manufacturing wherewithal.
Their willingness to take on a new product would have to be
determined. Several possible companies with contact information are
listed at this link:

If you would like to hire an inside salesperson, you could opt to post
a classified ad in various online places, such as www.prosavvy.com, or
www.monster.com, with copy that would target responses directly to
your employment offering.
