Hello,
are you looking for the full spectrum of statistics for diesel engines
e.g.
boat, power generator, lawn mower, van, truck and heavy goods
vehicles, tanks, fork lift trucks, pumps etc
Also for your second part of the question ".. the number of diesel
engined vehicles".... should vehicles be interpreted as 'car'?
Could you clarify if the manufacture of the 'vehicle' itself needs to
be in Europe.. as some European car manufacturers are now making their
vehicles in Brazil, Africa.

My primary focus is the car/van market diesel engines (eg. VW,
Mercedes, BMW), but the full spectrum of information would be ideal. 
As for Europe vs. worldwide information, I wasn't aware of passenger
car diesel engine manufacture/sales in America?  I thought that the
trend was purely European, and maybe some in Japan?  Bit narrow-minded
I guess?  Other diesel sectors in the USA/worldwide are of interest
though.  Basically as much information as possible would be great.
