bufftrac,

I have contacted the County Clerk's office in Erie County, NY about
the best way to do this.

I left a voicemail message with their Computer Department: as soon as
they get back to me, I will let you know what they suggest.

Thanks,
Huntsman

Bufftrac,

The County Clerk's office called back and said Erie County does not
maintain a central database of property owners' names and addresses.

Rather, this property information is kept by the assessor's office in
each town and village within Erie county. Depending on the size of the
town/village, records may be online, in offline databases, or simply
on paper, so you will have to contact town/village individually.

A clickable map of Erie County with contact information for all towns
and villages can be see here:

   Office of Real Property Services
   Municipal Profile

As the commenter pointed out, you can view some County records
(including images of deeds) online at:

Erie County Clerk's Office - Online Access
   http://ecclerk.erie.gov/CGI-BIN/DB2WWW/RECORDS.mbr/RECORDS

As noted, you have to know the name of the person you're looking for,
but you must also register with the County Clerk for a viewing
account, and it costs $5.00 to view *each* document online.

Here is a direct link to the Erie County Clerk's Online Database of
Information.
http://ecclerk.erie.gov/CGI-BIN/DB2WWW/RECORDS.mbr/RECORDS

The only bad thing aout this link, is that unlike other counties - you
can't search (it seems) by property address... only by owner name -
then you can see deeds, mortgages, & that type of information.

But I'll work on the "by address" search for you some more.

Found it!

Here's a site where you can search by owner's name, for the entire
state of New York, or you can just select Erie (or as many counties as
you choose). The address (pardon the pun) is:
http://uspdr.com/consumer/namecounty.asp

And again, here's a site, where you can search by property address,
for the entire state of New York, or just select the particular
county. That address is: http://uspdr.com/consumer/streetcounty.asp

Finally, a little "lagniappe" or (extra) : this is where you can get
the history of that particular property, in the state of New York:
http://uspdr.com/consumer/reports.asp

Let me know if this helped, or if you need anything else!
