I am a researcher in the educational technology area. I am looking
for research projects and/or programs that solve the following
problem: given a set of organized course content, this software/system
can assemble course syllabus, reading list, schedules/calendar,
homework problems, etc... One way to think about this system, it can
automatically (or semi-automatically) create a course website given a
set of constraints. The constraints might be of the form, a) the
course meets only 15 times b) 2 times a week c) include 3 homework
problems d) 2 quizzes, etc... The software might have the smarts to go
ahead and pick problems, schedule the lecture material to meet time
constraints, etc... etc...
I have found a system that I think would be an example. It is the LRN
system by Microsoft. It is described as a system that can "Assemble
course content, including a syllabus, reading list, and schedule, into
one electronic learning resource, called a manifest." The webpage for
this project description is
http://www.microsoft.com/Education/LRN2Tutorial.aspx.
I am looking for 3-4 competiting systems to the LRN system (as it
relates to creating automatically [or semi-automatically] creating
syllabus, reading list, etc... etc...).
Please ask additional questions if clarification is needed.
Thanks. |
