I write the two related research questions below in connection with a
book I am writing, "The Virtual Handshake: Opening Doors and Closing
Deals Online". For details, see www.TheVirtualHandshake.com . For
each question below, all I need is a link to a report which contains a
quantitative answer. I need a credible source, so that I can
appropriately endnote the fact in the book. I strongly prefer an
academic study.

My questions:

+ Can you find a study that proves that higher Character is good for
sales? Specifically, I theorize that higher perceived integrity leads
to greater trust which makes it easier to close deals. I'm looking
for an academic study that backs up that point.

+ Please get data on where salespeople get their leads. What
percentage come from networking, versus cold calls, versus other
sources?
