The Van Nuys newspaper changed its name to Valley News and Green Sheet
in 1953, and was later sold to the Tribune Co., publisher of The
Chicago Tribune in 1973. The paper was renamed "Daily News" in 1981.
In 1985 the paper was bought by Jack Kent Cooke, the owner of the
Washington Redskins and New York City's Chrysler Building. When Cooke
died in 1997, his estate sold the paper to "MediaNews Group" which now
operates 40 daily newspapers including "Daily News".

I am sorry,that did not help,guess I did not explain clearly.  I found
an article on Jane Rexroat(lost track of niece) 1967 and 1968 re Ca.
Cavalry Cadets in which she ws an officer and her late mother Margaret
Rexroat a treasurer and then there was another mention of another
article 1974(which I figured was a marriage of that niece(born 1953
NY) and then I could find her married name, but when the article
appeared on the screen the paper print was so small and I did not know
how to turn the pages,so I could not find the 1974 article in the
Valley news paper re;Jane Rextroat..Many thanks for helping a
novice.........Blessings

I am sorry, I don't believe I can help you any further with this as I
do not have a subscription and am therefore unable to view these
articles. The only thing I can tell you is that the term "Rexroat"
seems to be appear in 6 articles. The dates, if it helps, are:
   
01 September 1967
13 October 1967
13 October 1967
16 July 1968
17 September 1968
14 February 1975
