Hello.

I have purchased a copy of Registry Mechanic.(PC fixer software for $29.95 US)

I was hoping that it would repair some irritations I am experiencing with my PC.

I have downloaded the most recent version, run the deep scan twice and
effected 400+ repairs to errors found.

The problem i have remains unresolved.

Here it is:

Some EXE. don't initiate on my system while on other systems they do.

Let me explain...

I have purchased software online, downloaded it and went to RUN the
program from my C drive and NOTHING. The exe prog goes to initiate, it
flashes a small black dos box, hangs for about 1.5 seconds and then
.....NOTHING.

When I attempt to open it via control panel/add-remove progs /wizzard = Nothing.

The windows self extract setup (?) will not open this and another
program. It will do ALL OTHER Downloads I have as exe files or zip
files (for these I use wipzip).

I get NO error messages, nothing.

I have sent the offending files to colleagues and they run with no problems.

The vendor of the program has sent me a ZIP version and a new
extraction tool (an unzipper) to assist but claims I am the only
person having this problem. He sells 100s of these.

So, I thought the fix needs to be done on my pc.

I have installed a Registry fixer to see if that solves the issue....NOTHING.

QUESTIONs:
Why some exe are ok and others are not?
Why will it open on others pcs and not mine?
What is an easy way to fix this?

My op system is XP pro with MS service patch 2 or what ever it's
called...512mb of RAM 80gig HD together with an adsl connection.

To say I'm annoyed is putting it mildly.

Please advise.
Thanks

Try the following:

Start button --> Run --> type CMD --> a "DOS" box (actually a command
line window) will be open --> type the fullpath of the file that you
want to open (ex: C:\Biliardo21\biliardo.exe) --> cross your fingers!!

One question: is there the possibilite that a program like a firewall
or an antivirus are preventing the programs to run?

I will wait for your response to this request in order to continue the research .

Regards.
