Hello promosgalore-ga,
I've never heard of this rare specimen before :-)
After some searching in classic car sites and even the massive
database of cars at UK's Autotrader the results failed to reveal
anything.
I found one one at ebay
but figured that you probably wanted the real thing rather than a
scale replica ;-) and anyway it was located in the States.
My search brought me to the classified section of an Australian
website
kruizinwagon.com
Where there is an ad placed by somebody in Germany:
" VW 147 Fridolin
Description: i have a fridolin for sale. The car needs a full
restoration but it is worth, engine runs and everything goes with it.
It is located in Germany (düsseldorf) and i offer it for 3300 $
including transport to bremerhaven for shipping. This car is rarer
than every split or early t1."
There was no date on the ad, so I wanted to verify if it was still
available for sale by emailing him, before posting an answer.
I just received his reply, the one advertised has unfortunately been
sold, but he has another! He has had a grand total of 8 pass through
his hands in the last 2 years and still owns three! So he probably
knows his 147's.
The condition is described as "It is still on wheels but most of the
rest is srewed off but still there. It is in very good condition for a
fridolin, it only needs the normal bodywork but it is one of the best
i seen for many years"
He says he has to think about the price but reckons around 4000$
including transport to bremerhaven.
Please email him to find out his offer price and more specific
details.
(email address is in on the kruizinwagaon classfied page)
