My niece is a Junior in high school and has qualified for the Indiana state track and field championships her Freshman & Sophomore year in the 100 Meter Dash and in the 200 Meter Dash her Sophomore year. She has an impressive resume as a sprinter. She is also a very qualified singer. She has also qualified for state events. We are looking to get her a track and field scholarship to college. She wishes to study music in college and would like to stay in the Midwest or go to the Northeast. My question is two fold. What would be the best division 1 schools to consider? and what are the best scholarship services to advise a person on this decision? | |

University of Maryland, College Park is a great school that not only delivers a solid division one program, but their music program is known worldwide, and their facilities are first class. Having personally attended events and known graduates though the program, I can tell you that their only sadness is having to leave the program to graduate. The University is full of eager, academically-focused students who are usually in the top 15-25% of their class. The school is rich in many ways, including money, culture, and education. The ACC confrence is a very compedative place to compete. With schools like Virginia Tech, Duke, Georgia Tech, and Florida, the best of the best are in this confrence. Hope I've satisfied an answer. |
