I am an Australian travelling to Los Angeles mid to late April 2005. 
Due to the ridiculous prices of quality guitars in Australia I am
going to buy a quanity of used / 2nd hand guitars for myself and some
friends while I am in LA and import them back into the country.  I am
mainly interested original (NOT Copies) and good quality Fender and
Gibson Electric Guitars.

I am interested in an extensive list as possible of Name, Address,
Phone Number, and where appropriate, email & web address details of
private individuals or companies that sell such second hand musical
equipment and in particualar guitars (Brands interest in Fender and
Gibson).

This could include:
- "Normal" retail music or guitar shops
- Specialist 2nd hand music or guitar retailers
- On Line Traders specialising in second hand guitars (if the on line
trader is a specialist in this area with good stock quantity then they
need not be based in LA - anywhere in USA is OK)
- Printed Publications/News papers in the LA area that sell second
hand guitars from individual members of the public - either as a
specialist area or as ageneral part of their publication.
- On line Internet sites for the LA area that sell second hand guitars
from individual members of the public - either as a specialist area or
as a general
part of their publication.

It should be indicated, where possible or approapriate, whether each
contact is a specialist in this area with regular used/2nd hand stock
is in their inventory OR whether they only have stock from time to
time.

List should be extensive if appropriate remembering I am after quality
not necessarily quantity - This is an exercise in time management for
me so I can efficiently shop for these products while I am in LA!

I will contact all of these before I fly into LA to see whether it is
worthing meeting with them on my arrival.  The point of getting this
information is so I may plan this guitar buying activity before
arriving so I can use my time efficiently.

I will also need to hire a driver to to drive me around for 1-2 days
doing this.  Please also provide contact details for 2 companies and
or services that would be capable of doing this without ripping me
off.  I figure paying a taxi for the day would be too costly?

shopped by the stars and recommended by more than one other store I
spoke to.  They specialize in all sorts of vintage Gibsons and Fenders

I talked to 3 different transportation services -- the first is a
general "chauffeur" service that provides a driver, and you supply the
car.  The second two are taxis.  There wasn't much of a price
difference.
