Hello, I've posted about 3 questions that were pratically "untouched" and I do not believe they are very difficult to answer. I simply dont understand what I've done wrong. I really need them answered but I cant do much other than hope and wait. Is there a secret of some kind ? Perhaps its the section that Im putting them in ? Would someone please advice on where I should place them instead ? Thank you http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=468535 http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=466554 http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=468116 Here they are: |

Your first question about printers got some pretty good comments from GA Researchers - I'm surprized that nobody has hit you with a really comprehensive Answer Perhaps it is because the other two questions look as if you are contemplating criminal activity - police radio scanners and pinhole cameras sound as if you are looking into rigging ATMs |

I have another take on this which may surprise you. Given the relative simplicity of the printer question and lack of details you provided I suspect you may have overpriced it. Researchers are leary of giving simple answers to expensive questions because of the chance the answer will be rejected. As for the others, you can tell from the comments that your question has made some researchers nervous, especially since you apparently haven't taken the simple step of going to a scanner shop and asking them or you did and didn't like the answer they gave. I'm not judging you or your motives, merely trying to show what might have happened. you can try reposting at a lower price or give some convincing details about precisely what you intend to do - this is always a good idea since it helps researchers pinpoint the kind of informaiton you are really seeking. |

Thank you guys for your comments. Its strange enough to think that there is any criminal activity involved with posessing or even using a police scanner. They are called as such because of their ability to pick up the PD radio, but I believe their real name is "trunk radio" or so. The only reason I've wanted the information is because I had a discussion about the question weeks ago, and a certain individual was telling me how everything is digitized in the city and someone who owns a "trunk radio" would not be able to tap into the police radio broadcast unless they have a very expensive digital system. I got very curious and posted the question. Regarding the pin hole camera, I dont understand how ATMs can be related to it, are you trying to say Im building one ? Otherwise I dont know what you are referring to as "rigging ATMs". I've seen such cameras and other devices in a "Spy Shop" in the city, and once again, got extremely curious. But unfortunately they all cost around $300-400 each. When I went on eBay and saw that most of them were selling for $30-50 each, I got overexcited and decided to become a "spy" of my own, heheh. Thank you for your comments folks. |

criminal activity and scanner? About ten seconds after the police got car radios some enterprising criminal discovered that the radios of the day could pick up the transmissions and tell them exactly where police cars were and whether a silent alarm had been tripped. Do you really have no idea why people are nervous about answering such questions. As for pinhole cameras, they are often used to spy on the keypad at ATMs to transmit PIN numbers to nearby vehicle stations. A pinhole camera small in total than the 9V battery that powers it and its transmitter costs $230. I hope you understand that I am merely pointing out facts, not in any way impuning your motives which are probably entirely innocent - you asked WHY researchers are reluctant to answer. Well, that's why, we don't want to end up being questioned by the FBI under the Patriot Act which essentially voided the Bill of Rights. |

Hi, I?new to google and might not understand this, but it appears that SS is a researcher with a pretty good record while I can?t locate any answers given by steph53. Does that mean something I should know? Why don't Steph's answers show up in a search? Steph says that SS only has 64 answered questions but doesn?t say how many he or sh has. Does that mean anything? Is 64 a low number? Just wondering. I was attracted to this question since I want my future questions answered. |

Comments that were here earlier today have been removed. This occurrence was mentioned in: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=329452 of 13 Apr 2004. Someone suggested then that it would be better for G... to attach a comment to posts instead of just deleting them. "... Had it been annotated rather than mysteriously deleted, I would have noticed the annotation immediately. Wikipedia does this with articles, and it seems to work well. ..." In order to avoid confusion, I would agree with that suggestion. Anyone reading the last comment above (15 Feb 2005, 16:09 PST) has no way of knowing what bgoldie is referring to now. I think that if a comment must be removed, the "Subject" and "From" lines should be left in place. For bgoldie: Like myself, Steph53 is not a Researcher. You will notice that the usernames of Researchers are underlined and are clickable. Commentors cannot provide official answers to questions, and their usernames are not clickable. |
