For the price of a used car - does it make a difference what percentage of "miles on the clock" come from urban traffic and from non-urban traffic? |

I've never heard of that being a factor directly. Probably because there is no way of knowing (as a buyer) how many miles were put on the car in the city. But the value of a used car does depend on how it drives. Cars with alot of city miles tend to feel rougher, don't accellerate as smoothly, have more rattles... this all makes the car feel older to the buyer and are a sign that the car has fewer miles left in its life. |

When you look up the blue book on a used car there is NOT a section with "type of miles driven". Car's worth are based on miles driven, options, condition. |

Hi, Price of used Cars depends upon following things: 1. Paint is original or not 2. Car is fully painted including Roof or only sides are painted 3. Car is Accidental or not 4. Number of Miles shown in the Speedometer. (Though in some cases these are not actual but still you get some idea) 5. Year of Purchase and Model of the Car 6. Number of Owners (It is always better to buy a single hand Car having number of owners not more then 1) 7. Conditions of Tyres 8. Condition of Engine (If engine is smoky or giving black smoke when given accelerator in Neutral Gear then it is for sure that life is Engine is not very long it can go any time) 8. Conditions of Axles (Whether original or repaired) 9. Condition of appraines of the Car whether repaired of original. 10. Chasis is rusted or not All these counts when a costing of Used Car is done. Car driven in urban traffic or non-urban traffic doesn't makes much difference but yes the difference which makes is in which area Car is mostly driven. If the Car is driven maximum in the area where road conditions are not very good then it is going to affect the life of Engine, Tyres, Axles and Chasis or the Car.
