This question was locked yesterday, so I thought that someone was
working on it. However there is no reply yet. I would not be able to
provide you with a full answer, but I may be able to point you or
researchers in the direction of some helpful links.
I believe you are referring to the Beara Peninsula,
which is mainly in County Cork and partly in County Kerry.
Here is a map of Ireland, where you will see the location of Counties
Cork and Kerry at the south:

This is a map of Cork and Kerry: http://www.corkkerry.ie/maps/index_flash.asp
The map doesn't name the Beara Peninsula, but it is situated between
Bantry and Kenmare.

This is the website of the Beara Tourism and Development Association:
http://www.bearatourism.com and I think you would find a lot of
information on this site, including this page on the O'Sullivan clan:

You will find the following on the above mentioned website:
"All the people on the Beara Peninsula and people abroad who's
ancestors came from the this part of West Cork have been very
fortunate that Mr. Riobard O'Dwyer, retired school teacher, has
research in-depth the family tree of every house-hold on the Beara
Peninsula.
Mr O'Dwyer has researched some family trees back to the 1600's and has
also researched the American Ambassador, Michael O'Sullivan's family
tree back to Eyeries Parish.
If your name is O'Sullivan, Harrington, O'Neill, Murphy etc... and you
feel your ancestors came from the Beara Peninsula please e-mail
Riobard O'Dwyer on: riobardodwyer(at)eircom.net or telephone him on
+353-27-74015 or write to him at: Riobard O'Dwyer, Eyeries Village,
Eyeries, Beara, Co. Cork, Ireland."
