eg. Franklin Mint products

That wasn't the question. They may be a con, but if i can purchase
sets that would be profitable for metal content, then that would be to
my benefit:-)

doug42, anyone producing and selling precious metal "coins" - medals,
really - obviously cannot include enough gold or silver to make the
intrinsic value thereof worth more than what they ask for their
products.
A glance at the prices asked by people who want to sell their
"collection" of such (all the States of the Union, whatever)
demonstrated that they aren't worth nearly as much as what they
originally cost.
