What is the name of the disease that causes humans to produce ethanol
instead of lactic acid and can cause a person to become drunk without
ever ingesting alcohol?

There is a condition known as "auto-brewery syndrome" that is the
result of intestinal bacteria overproducing ethanol as a result of
ingestion of carbohydrates. The metabolic production of ethanol
instead of lactic acid can occur, I believe, but no info yet.
