I am installing xp professional on a formatted hard drive  with a new
xp disk and after setup starts it loads basic drivers then it says
starting windows then this stop error appears    0x00000001
(0x84812b98b,0x00000002,0x00000000,0x84812b98b)

Thanks for the tips I am getting closer.  !st of all no pci cards
installed only the graphics card that i know is good also no usb items
connected. Now it gets through 1st part of setup then it says starting
to install windows and the screen changes then it says press enter to
continue and nothing the keyboard suddenly is inoperable even though
it works up until that point.  This is gettin wierd.

Try searching Window's support database. All the 0x00 things are
coding for what kind of error occured. (For the other people reading
this)

i had this happen too me once too.... what i ended up doing was i
download a windows 98 boot disk and i put it in the computer and
booted in to god old DOS and typed "fdisk" and i deleted every thing
off the hard drive then then restarted the computer and reinstalled
windows xp from the top and it work really good... and if that does
not work it my just be your copy of xp

Hello,

If the comment above this one does not solve your problem, try
removing all misc pci cards. In other words, remove all components
that are necessary for the xp installation. So remove you NIC card,
modem card, sound card, etc. (but not the video card :) ) Also remove
any USB devices.
