Do you live by a busy street?? next time the dog is in the back yard... alone.... open up the gate and let it run free... may be it likes to play chatch so toss a ball across the busy street just as a car comes.. and let another poor chap kill the stupid thing and then just run in to your house.. or say you saw the whole thing happen..:D |

depending on were u live, once a dog attacks a human it has to be put down, so all you really have to do is stir it up until it bites you, then call the police. |

Why not buy the dog from your neighbor and have it put down? |

My above comment was ment as a sarcistic joke. This heylady person want's to know how to "get rid of" (probably kill) what is most likely an deeply loved and cared for member of someone eles's family. I have a pet, and I would be extreamly pissed and sad if one of my neighbors decided to "dispose" of her for some reason. I cerently hope heylady doesn't recieve an answer to this question unless it is to have a civilized conversion with the owner of the dog. If may be that this dog is an uncontrolable menace to the neighborhood, in which case, a call to animal control would be appropriate. I believe there are laws regarding dangerous animals. But it could just as easly be that heylady has a gruge aginst the neighbors or just doesn't get along whith this particularl dog. Either way, it's no excuse for this kind of unnieghborly behevor. I do aggree that b4wls_deal3r's and buhbow's comments are absolutly not legal, moral, or ethical, as you say. |

The person who owned my home before I purchased it - disposed "of annoying neighbors dog". If you want to be the most hated person in your neighborhood disposed "of annoying neighbors dog". They (all your neighbors) will know who did it, and hate you for it. If the dog is a problem call the police and let them take care of it. My wife used to walk our dog, on the walk there was a pitbull that was allowed to run in it's front yard. He was a barker, very aggressive and the yard was not fenced. He was held back by a hidden ele. fence. The dog was very scary. I reported the dog. The owner did a few things to restrain the dog. I did not think it was enough. Now does it matter that I didn't think it was enough? No. I left it up to the police to decide. I reported the problem again. The police went out and talked to the owner. After a few calls from me, the dog was put into the backyard and the problem was solved. The reason for success had to do with public safety. Kids would walk by there to and from school. My wife walked by with our dog. And the dog in question, was very aggressive. It was clear to the police that there MAY be a problem if the dog got into the street. As to your problem, if the dog's a barker - during the day - when he sees you - then make friends with the dog by giving him treats. Most dogs are built to love people. Make friends with him and learn to enjoy his "barks" for love and attention. Most dogs only want to be loved. Give that to them and you will have a friend for life. If he barks at night and keeps you up - report him. And let the police take care of it. Do not take care of this yourself. Your neighbors may not be "that" friendly. |

It's good to keep in mind that the real problem is probably not the dog, but the neighbors themselves. Dogs that bark incessantly or behave aggressively are often suffering from abuse or neglect. If you "dispose of" the dog, the neighbors are quite likely to get another dog, and you'll have to dispose of that dog, too. Or, if the neighbors figure out that you got rid of their dog, they may try to dispose of you. Almost all towns and cities have ordinances that deal with animal nuisances. Contact the proper authorities. Taking drastic action on your own is a lose/lose situation: it is unfair to the dog and to the neighbors, and it may have unpleasant legal consequences for you. |

Ummm I know this post is kinda old but I have a problem with my neighbor's dog. I live a few miles out of the city limits so there isn't any ordinances about dogs running around. The neighbor's dog has attacked my dog several times. The neighbor's dog is twice as big as mine. My dog is about the size of a beagle and the neighbor's dog is an alaskan malamute. The neighbor's dog is also a lot younger. It is about 3 or 4 years old and my dog is 9 years old. So it can beat up my dog easily. The last attack it tore a good chunk out of my dog's ear and it went for my dog's throat. Luckly a member of my household was there to save my dog. The neighbor's dog also steals stuff from my house. Like shoes. I know it steals stuff because we might occasionlly find 1 of the shoes it stole in the neighbor's yard. One day it sole brand new $40 shoes. The neighbor's also know that it attacks my dog cause they watched it happen. The police probbaly won't do anything because we live several miles out of the city limits. So what could I do? They can't even catch their own dog but they feed it. So its theirs and it is running all over the place. |
