There are many ways to tell if the TL's are fakes, the two main sighs
are, the tread on the front 3/4 of the sole is hard plastic, and the
price is too good to be true. If you find a pair for under $99 they
are probably fakes.

mj23,
In my two expreriences with buying Shox TL on eBay (from overseas),
the following are signs of "fake" versions: 1. slippery, plastic
bottom sole (should be a grippy, rubber sole); 2. match Nike's product
number to the box (if a box was not included, they are most likely
"fake"; 3. color schemes are limited and if a color scheme seems
unique, they're "fake" (if the color scheme is blue and white, there
should not be any purple accents; 4. excessively long laces (Shox TL's
are running shoes and should not have long laces). Hope this helps
(my advice is to beware of "shady" sellers on eBay, or any other
websites for that matter). Stick to Finish Line or Niketown for
"authentic" Nike Shox. Additionally, Nike has a phenomonal warranty
on Shox. I returned a pair of TL's to the coroporate offices in
Oregon (after owning them for over a year, and received the original
purchase price, $150.00, towards a new pair at Niketown). Warm
regards from Florida!
