Question ID: 476858
I need to know if a totally anonymous proxy server actually exists.
This would have to be a proxy that is completely untraceable from an
IP address standpoint but also it would need to be completely
undetectable by the websites that I would be using it to connect with.
Furthermore it would have to give me proxy ip addresses that were
strictly us based.
A satisfactory answer would
explain exactly how a service could make this possible and also point
out anything else to be aware of in terms of using a proxy server.
i.e. others ways that my physical address or real ip address could be traced.
Answer
There is no answer at this time.

eg the network usually is
you->gateway->router(s)->proxyserver->router(s)->hostserver
lt use set a proxy server 1.1.1.1
then every instruction or ip packet is sent to the proxy with your sender's address
and a NEW packet is then sent to the website you wish see with
sender's adress as 1.1.1.1 NOT yours.and the data required is sent by
the site to 1.1.1.1 from where it is retransmitted to you hence the
hostserver never knows your IP

most proxies can claim to be completely anonamous some even provide
encryption that is practically unbreakable like www.findnot.com but
they normally charge a fee. This is a good choice if the data is
important because between the proxy and you the data can be tapped.(at
the router(s)/gateway) which is becomes impossible as there is an
encryption in use. between proxy and hostserver data still be tapped
but knowing your proxy's address and the host address together would
be difficult

if it is a secure hostserver then things can get more complicated
certain proxies don't support this. It's the SSL/TlS protocol rules not
allowing a 'middleman' or the proxy .

As long as you can trust the proxy it is difficult to find your true IP
to test apply a proxy and visit www.whatismyip.com
the people supplying the party should not record your work or betray your id

most proxies are us based but you will have to clarify that at
http://www.kloth.net/services/iplocate.php

static IPs can be traced by locing them up against your name with the ISP
and anyone who shares your network can detect yours through tools like ethereal
packet sniffers
some proxies for http protocol with port numbers

in IE goto tools -inernet options-connections-lan settings-
check use proxy and fill in the details
in FireFox
goto-tools- options -general and the last option is for proxies
