The 10 questions follow below ($2.00 each + 0.50 listing fee): A current periodic table of the elements will help in solving these anagram questions. NOTE - spellings of some elements may vary but other information remains the same. 1. Mix up Aluminium, Cerium, Holmium, Technetium and Oxygen for a treat. 2. Unjumble Argon, Iodine, Cadmium and Nitrogen for something unpleasant. 3. Rearrange Bismuth, Ruthenium, Silicon and Tellurium for your middle name, Captain Jim. 4. Unscramble Hydrogen, Chromium, Titanium and Osmium for big eggs. 5. Unjumble Zinc, Radon, Radium, Caesium, Tellurium and Oxygen for a small part in Hamlet. 6. Put Curium, Polonium, Rhenium, Silicon and Cobalt under it. 7. Unmuddle Copper, Uranium, Nobelium, Tin, Titanium and Oxygen for something ongoing. 8. Rearrange Vanadium, Yttrium, Lawrencium, Europium, Nobelium, Argon, Titanium and Oxygen for a radical way of looking at things. 9. Rearrange Curium, Cobalt, Lithium, Tantalum, Palladium, Europium and Nitrogen for what this round probably isn?t! 10. Change around Astatine, Germanium, Radium, Chlorine, Carbon, Titanium and Indium for something out of this world |

Elliotx -- Here are the ten answers, along with the letters that represent the clued chemical elements in each case: 1. AL CE HO TC O Answer: Chocolate 2. AR I CD N Answer: Rancid 3. BI RU SI TE Answer: Tiberius 4. H CR TI OS Answer: Ostrich 5. ZN RN RA CS TE O Answer: Rosencrantz 6. CM PO RE SI CO Answer: Microscope 7. CU U NO SN TI O Answer: Continuous 8. V Y LR EU NO AR TI O Answer: Revolutionary 9. CM CO LI TA PD EU N Answer: Uncomplicated 10. AT GE RA CL C TI IN Answer: Intergalactic Additional Information: I didn't "cheat" (honest!) -- well, maybe once, to come up with "microscope" -- because I enjoy solving anagrams, but there are websites that allow you to enter a series of letters and get a list of words that can be spelled with them. Here's a link to one of them: Wordsmith.org http://www.wordsmith.org/anagram/anagram.cgi?anagram=cmporesico Search Strategy: First I found this list of the chemical elements, conveniently alphabetized and scrollable on one page: University of British Columbia: Elements Listed By Name http://www.cs.ubc.ca/cgi-bin/nph-pertab/tab/list/byname I came up with all of the answers without help, except for "microscope" (see above) and "Tiberius," which I discovered was Captain Kirk's middle name using this Google search: "captain jim" "middle name" ://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&rls=GGLD%2CGGLD%3A2004-01%2CGGLD%3Aen&q=%22captain+jim%22+%22middle+name%22 I am confident that this is exactly the information you are seeking, and I am happy to be able to give you a reasonably prompt answer, considering that I chose to do it "the hard way." If anything is unclear, please ask for clarification before rating the answer. markj-ga |
