I am going to speak with a representative of a company, who is in
charge of the distribution rights of a product in various markets.

Not sure if it helps in any way, but the product is tea.
I want to persuade him that I am the person to bring it to market in a
certain country and I need to persuade him to let me have the
distribution rights to do so.

I am new to the business, but already have contacts in place in the
market with distribution capabilities, who also have import/export
licenses.

My questions are:
What do I need in order to convince the representative that I am the
person that should obtain exclusive rights for distribution of the
product?

What information will he want from me and what kind of information /
questions should I pose to him?

I need an answer by 2/21/05.

You will want a complete outline of the buisness you expect to do
along with some facts about any previous buisness that you may have.
That way you can compare the data to him. You want to show him that
you have the nessasary skills and background to be able to make both
his buisness and your buisness flourish.

I'm sorry to say, but I had thought of this answer in the first
minute.  I was really looking for a more expansive and detailed answer
- import/export sites, information on tea distribution.
Unfortunately, I could not respond until today, but this was in no way
worth even $5.
