I want to know how to get my own web server which includes something
that will host my website with and be able to access it using a domain
(e.g. www.lightfaeries.com)....

... What do I need and please estimate how much it will cost me ...

anhosting.com is pretty good.

A decent shared server will cost you 5-7 dollars a month. You
shouldn't really need higher than that.
