I need the full English translation (not abstract) for the Japanese
patent JP62040292: "Antibiotic Substance Zofimarin" (1987); Inventor
Ogita Takeshi; Applicant Sanko Co Ltd., as well as any more current
methods of synthesizing zofimarin (in English), and if they exist, the
contact info for any manufacturers who produce and who will sell pure
bulk zofimarin.

John,

You've really asked three very different questions here:

--translation of a Japanese patent

--current methods of synthesis for zofimarin

--contact info for manufacturers of same

I rather doubt that any one researcher feels able to answer all three
questions...even raising your fee considerably would probably not
serve to have all there questions answered at once.

You may wish to repost these as separate questions, and let each one
be pursued independently.

Just a suggestion...

An answer to any ONE of the following is worth $100 to me:

1. Translation of the patent

2. More current detailed method of synthesis in English

3. Contact info for a company that will sell it at a reasonable price
(no more than $10,000/kilo)

If you have a link for an online copy of the patent, please post it
here and I will try to get it translated.

Cheers,
Tox-ga

I have several Japanese friends that might be able to do it for me,
depending on the dialect and script it's written in. Do you have a
copy that you could send me to look at?

Did you ever get your translation completed? For your information,
the length of the document itself would generate an estimate of
considerably more than $100 of effort. I have worked in tandem on
quite a number of projects with a professional Japanese->English
translator in a manufacturing environment who's a little weak on the
English side....but our final products have been quite respectable.
