I need a list of patent holding companies in the U.S. The list needs
to comprise at least 40 companies, but ideally the list should be as
long as possible. The list must focus on technology and IT
oriented-companies and not biotech or mechanical patent portfolios. I
need this in the form of a chart consisting of the name only (and
domain name if possible)--but not a lengthy list of weblinks or other
incidental information that I have to sift through in order to put the
chart together. Thanks.

OK, I need this by end of day on Monday, so how about if somebody
could give me 15 names of companies whose primary business is
marketing or holding patents. One example is TechSearch.

You can download an excel file from the MIT Technology Review site at
http://www.technologyreview.com/articles/04/05/patents0504.asp?p=1

It separates them out by major industry.
