Question ID: 477756
Can you please provide me with a list of jobs in Munich Germany?
The jobs must meet the following critera.

Conduct all business in English,
Be full time or part time.

I have my BFA in Graphic Design and have been working in the design
field for about 4 years. It would be great to find a job in the design
field, but I will take what I can find to just get started. Provide as
big of a list as possible and I will sort out what I qualify or don't
qualify for. I will be moving to Munich in April.

Thank you very much.

Dear MRT,

For the price that you've offered, I don't think that a list of all
firms that would employ an English-speaker would be highly approriate,
as it would require much more work than usually associated with this
price. I could, however, lead you to sites that explain how to seek
English-speaking jobs there; how to write your CV in the "German"
style; what are the usual jobs available for English-speakers; etc.

Dear MRT,

First of all, it should be useful to know, that it is sometimes very
difficult for a non-German speaker to get a job in Germany. The
Germans have their own system of CV and applications, and it might be
frustrating for you in the first weeks - so have a little Geduld -
patience, and enjoy the new culture.

Some job ads could be found in "expat" sites:

Toyttown Munich - Job Offers
<http://www.toytownmunich.com/lofi/index.php/f26.html>
This site is a forum for English-speakers in Munich. The link by Anne
Marie (am-ga) bellow is also a possibility.

Munich Found
<http://www.munichfound.com/jobmarket.cfm>

Expatriates,.com
<http://www.expatriates.com/classifieds/mun/jobs/>

iAgora
<http://iwork.iagora.com/jobs/Germany/listing/>

Other positions could be found using the traditional means (the job
centre, newspapers). However, for these you need at least minimal
German:
Job Centre (Federal Employment Agency, Bundesagentur fuer Arbeit)
<http://www.arbeitsagentur.de/>

Sueddeutsche Zeitung
<http://jobcenter.sueddeutsche.de/index.php/3e6d891dq6DrMqW,SnNfGvn.GdnR/421a515dc849a421050280815504/job/b2c/>
- the most "serious" newspaper in Munich, with good job section.

Zeit - Stellenanzeigen.de
<http://zeit.stellenanzeigen.de/asp/portal/zeit/angebote.asp> -
another newspaper with good ads for professionals. I checked, for
example, at "JobTurbo" the "Design/Graphic" rubrik, checked area
"Bayern" (Bavaria) and received dozens of offers - the site spidered
many other job sites, and brings you a collection of all of their
offers.

However, quite surprisingly, a traditional English site had relatively
good offers, when I searched using the keywords "graphic" and "munich"
in the category "Rest of the World"
JobSearch.co.uk
<http://www.jobsearch.co.uk/search.cgi?keywords=graphic+munich&sr=-2&r=&t=&l=&e=year&a=28&sort_order=&image.x=26&image.y=12>

Jennifer Wessel, "How to look for a job in Europe", in Expatica
<http://www.expatica.com/source/site_article.asp?subchannel_id=39&story_id=302&name=How+to+look+for+a+job+in+Europe>

iAgora, CV - Germany
<http://www.iagora.com/iwork/resumes/cv_germany.html>
How to write a German CV.

The site Expat Bavaria also provides some advice (though there were no
offers at their job section):
Expats-in-Bavaria
<http://www.expats-in-bavaria.com>

I hope this answers your question. Please contact me if you need any
clarification on this answer before you rate it.

You want to get an all english speaking job in Munich? Try some
UK/American firms. I would say though that it would be most unlikely
that you will find an all-english speaking firm there. It is in
Germany, where they speak - German!

There are several ways to use the jobs section on
www.Expats-in-Bavaria.com and www.EuroExpats.com

http://www.expats-in-bavaria.com/2/?jobs
http://www.euroexpats.com/index.php?jobs

There are free classifieds provided to job seekers, and also jobs
available within the Expat Media Group.

Please have a look through the sites as there are many complementary
sections available to help you in your search, and in settling into a
new life in Munich, and the rest of Bavaria.
