Thanks for letting us know about this interesting development in Iraq.
I hope it has staying power.

The web page for the Iraqi Stock Exchange can be seen here:

http://www.isx-iq.net/

and a general information page in English is here:

http://www.isx-iq.net/page/about.htm

There isn't a lot of detail about how to actually invest, but there is
a list of broker firms (mostly banks) provided, with emails for each,
and also general contact information for the stock exchange:

Let us know what you find out...and best of luck.

Dude. Like I said before: you cant. There is a war on you see and the
government is still forming, the currency is not even officially open
for trade. Your tax dollars are streaming over here into grants to
try and get the local economy on its feet because (in case you missed
the news) Saddam was overthrown and this country bombed into a
shambles so there is no stock market yet. All the construction, oil
and services are run by US companies like KBR and WGI. There are a
few turkish and kuwaiti companies that are doing well also.

This is news that there is a stock market. If there is a stock market
then there is investors. If there are investors I would like to be
one in on the ground floor.
I work in the oil field and understand that the potential reserves
here are huge. They have also not worked on the oil wells since 1991.
There is potential for great wealth. If there is no way now to
invest there will be in the near future so I will post my question
periodicaly in hopes it will get answered.

New Iraq stock market off to a booming start
Bulls, bears back to trading shares!
